Knowing God Better
The Attributes of God by A.W. Pink
- A classic bestseller built on a timeless premise: Failure to understand God's character leads to a skewed perception of the Divine---one that is too often cast in our own image. Seeking to remedy this, Pink outlines 17 key characteristics of the Almighty, including his sovereignty, immutability, patience, love, and faithfulness. 128 pages, softcover from Baker.

The Christian Life
Spiritual Disciplines for the Christian Life by Donald Whitney
- Far from being legalistic, restrictive, or binding, as they are often perceived, the spiritual disciplines are actually the means to unparalleled spiritual liberty. So if you'd like to embark on a lifelong quest for godliness, Spiritual Disciplines for the Christian Life will help you on your way. Based on the rich heritage left us by the early church fathers, the Puritan writers, and Jesus Christ Himself, Whitney takes you through a carefully selected array of disciplines that includes Scripture reading, prayer, worship, Scripture meditation, evangelism, serving, stewardship, Scripture application, fasting, silence and solitude, journaling, and learning.

Manhood
The Man in the Mirror by Patrick Morley
- Identity. Relationships. Money. Time. Temperament. Integrity. What problems do you face? Men grappling with the pressures of everyday life don't need spiritual fluff---they need real answers that will bring about lasting change, and Morley offers them. Each chapter includes "focus" questions, making this powerful book ideal for personal or group study. 400 pages, softcover from Zondervan.
Maximized Manhood by Edwin Louis Cole
- There is a difference between being a 'male' and being a 'man'. Ed Cole knew this so well he wrote a book about it, and after 30 years and over a million copies sold it still holds water. Many men have found truth in these pages (women, too, can gain much from the book) and it has been the backbone of Cole's ministry, The Christian Men's Network, and positioned him as the father of the Christian men's movement.
Men are multi-faceted, and all parts can come under attack from the enemy. Men can fail in many areas of their life, but as Cole focuses on the five most familiar reasons - lust, idolatry, fornication, tempting Christ (demanding God to do what is contrary to Him), and murmuring (complaining, criticizing, faultfinding, etc.) - he finds almost every man at some level. Refocusing a man's priorities on Christ by clearly delineating what these sins are and what they can do to a man starts the process of maximizing a man's potential and bringing him to full spiritual maturity.

Fatherhood
The Dad in the Mirror by Patrick Morley and david Delk
- To your son or daughter, he's "Dad"- the most important man in the world. Men's leaders, speakers, and authors Patrick Morley and David Delk share with you the secrets of grace-filled dads who understand that their most important work is to help shape the attitudes and beliefs of the next generation. This book shows how to father from your heart to your child's heart. Rather than only seeking the right performance from them, you can move into a dynamic relationship with your children that models what it means to love God and others truly and passionately. Start by asking the right question-not "What is my child doing?" but "Why is my child doing this?" Practical guidelines show you simple ways to help your children thrive, to build a firm foundation of faith for your family, and to empower your children by giving them both roots and wings.
The Bathroom Book of Fathering: Helping Busy Dads Make Every Minute Count by Todd Wilson
- At last---a father-friendly book on family that's funny and pain-free! It's true---simply sit back and relax as you enjoy this collection of easy-going, humorous anecdotes and musings from a fellow father reflecting on his own family life. So many things clamor for your focus and for first place in your life, it's easy to lose track of what really matters most. Through these stories of a father's fun times, failures, lessons learned, and moments of blessing, you'll find your focus back where it belongs as everything else fades into the background. Go ahead---take just a few minutes each day to treat yourself to this one-of-a-kind booster book from a guy who obviously really knows dads.
Father Power: Inspiring Every Dad to be His Child's Superhero by Todd Wilson
- Don't let the bold, cartoonish cover of Father Power fool you---it conveys Todd Wilson's signature up-beat, humorous style and the truly superhuman nature of a father's influence, but not the urgency or significance of his message. As always, Todd is engaging and encouraging the whole way through as he speaks to fathers as a fellow dad down in the trenches, ever "reminding dads of what's most important" and doing everything he can to help them choose it and live it. Lots of anecdotes and illustrations make reading and understanding easy and Todd's wit and cartoons keep a weighty topic from becoming too heavy. Application questions help you assess your current position and think about your choices and their consequences---you'll be able to evaluate where you stand and where you want to be so you can make changes now to avoid regrets later. God has given every dad a powerful influence in the lives of his wife and children and it can be used for good or bad, but it cannot be relinquished. Dad, don't squander your gift or the limited time you're given with your loved ones---choose to use your Father Power for good before it's too late.
