About The Pastor

As pastor of Jesus Chapel, I want to welcome you to our website. Our desire is that those already in our church family and those looking for a church will find this site to be a helpful communication tool. You will see that we have a calendar of upcoming events and a schedule of our services, and you can download the Sunday sermons for free in MP-3 format and/or in written form. Listening to these messages will give you more of a feel for who we are and what we believe. We also welcome you to communicate with us by phone, email, anonymous email, or a scheduled office visit.

Just to let you know a little about myself, I'd like to share some of my testimony with you. I was raised by wonderful parents, but they didn't know Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord when I was growing up. As a result, all five of their children went into various destructive, sinful lifestyles. Four of us used drugs and alcohol, two of my sisters tried suicide more than once, all but two of us went through divorce, all of us sinned sexually, and four of us smoked cigarettes and other things. My parents believed in God, and my Dad was the son of a pastor, but that didn't translate into practical and relevant power for living a better life. But due to the many problems in our family, my mother began to look for help for our situation, and thankfully, she turned toward God. Through reading a book, she discovered the powerful truth that it was both possible and necessary to be born again and have a vital relationship with God through Jesus Christ. She accepted Christ into her life and found new power and hope. Then she began to pray daily for the rest of us. After two years, my father turned his life over in this new way to God. Then the two of them prayed regularly for the family. The rest is a long story, but I can tell you that God reached and saved every one of us over a period of nearly 20 years! I got saved in a drug rehab center while serving in the US Navy. Today we all love Jesus, and we can all testify that He changes lives and saves souls, saves marriages, heals bodies and relationships, saves families - no matter what problem we may face, Jesus Christ is the Answer!

My life was so transformed by my contact with Christ that I became a completely new person! I began to tell others about the Lord, and study the scriptures daily. As I grew in the knowledge of God and of His Word, I found myself evangelizing, teaching, and preaching wherever God opened doors: bars, prisons, juvenile detention facilities, churches and even the streets. Eventually I launched out into full time ministry, serving in a local church and then in missions, traveling to many parts of the world. In the midst of all this I graduated summa cum laude from a four year Bible College in Florida, was a pastor on staff of an English speaking congregation and the pastor of two Hispanic congregations, one in Florida and one in El Paso. I came to pastor Jesus Chapel in January of 2006. Serving the Lord has been an exciting adventure!

I hope you have experienced God's salvation in Christ, and that you're growing and making progress in the Christian life. As He has helped me and my family, I'm convinced He will help you and yours if you will truly seek Him and surrender to Him with all your heart. He has a purpose and plan for our lives that makes them truly become meaningful and beautiful. To know Him, follow Him, and serve Him is mankind's greatest privilege. At Jesus Chapel we want to do all we can to help people find Jesus and experience the abundant life He offers. And we believe that God wants all of us to grow in our Christian life through a process of discipleship, so that we can become equipped to continue the work Jesus started. Every Christian has an important part to play in God's advancing Kingdom.
